Bass adjustment ??

My creative labs 5.1 live soundcard was not compatible with Vista so I've
enabled the onboard sound on my ABit BE7 Raid motherboard. My speakers do
not have a bass adjustment knob so in XP I could adjust the bass from the
volume mixer by double clicking the speaker icon in the tray and clicking on
advanced. I can't seem to do that in Vista, I have tried the MS drivers and
the proper AC '97 drivers, both only have volume, no treble or bass
adjustment.

If I by a cheap-ish creative Vista compatible sound card do you think I'll
get my bass adjustment back, has any one got a Creative card, if so could
you please let me know about the adjustments.

Thanks

Marcus

Marcus:
I am using SB Live 24 bit, getting 5.1 sound from my speakers with the
latest Creative drivers:

This is a really cheapo card (listening to Pink Floyd right now!)

hey guys, I just upgraded my PC from XP Pro to Vista Home Ultimate. I have a
creative Audigy soundcard installed and after getting the latest drivers the
sound card works ok in Vista. However, like Carols I have no way of
adjusting the bass/treble in Vista. I have looked thru various settings in
Vista and nothing shows the availability of bass/treble adjustment. Any
ideas if this is supported or not these days? Thanks. TJ

Right-click the speaker icon at the bottom-righthand side of the window.

Click PLAYBACK DEVICES, then double-click on "speakers"
Click the TONE tab

That's the way it's done here, using Audigy 4. Also might be available
on the speakers themselves.
