Basic network virus infection question

I'm a newbie and have a basic, perhaps stupid, question regarding a
home network and virus infections as follows:

I have Comcast as an ISP and have 3 PCs connected to broadband cable
via a router and cables. I only use the network for broadband cable
distribution not for file or printer sharing.

My question - if one of the PCs gets infected with a virus or trojan
will it somehow infect the other PCs as well?

TIA Mary

It depends on the virus. Somethong like MS Blaster will take your whole
netowrk down in seconds if the computers aren't patched. There are others
like this.
