1-i ran vista, for e.g -when i try to update Windows Defender via the app.
it self- there is notification from the task bar without notification sound.
do you have the same situation?
2-in Windows Update (i set it only to inform me, not download).
there is a balloon notification but no sound.
(In XP baloon notif. sound is working but not in my vista...)

A.- 2 Same set up, again, same result.

Problably is the default with Vista. I really don't remember.
