Another misquote. The mentioned forecasts included China and so forth. So
a natural response would be to blame those CHEATS for a majority of the
debunked forecasts.

Vista is close to 1 million copies sold. It's selling faster then XP.

There is nothing "failed" about Vista sales.

I wonder. What is the ratio of people who realize that the copy they are
buying is pirated? While users that buy just the disc probably are fairly
cognizant of their complicity, there are probably a lot of users buying
assembled systems that are going to be ****ed when it doesn't fully work.

On the other hand, the ability for these emerging (read "poor") markets to
use bootleg software allows them to become more productive, leading to
increased affluency. As other countries become more affluent, they will
pirate less, and they will no longer accept the low pay that drives
offshoring.

In the PC-XT, PC-AT days there was no COA sticker. If you did not get
a MS Manual in the bundle, you had no "proof" what was installed was
not Pirated (And if you did get the disks, that copies were not made
from them).
Same with my first Notebook that had W3.1, It only came with drivers
in the box but W3.1 was the installed O/S.

LOL! You didn't even read the article. Ballmer plans to tighten up WGA
so he can "squeeze" (his word) more money from the poor. How noble.

You're in dreamland.

You wish. I, for one, just bought a copy of XP Pro and will not buy
Vista until it has SP2, if then.

The ONLY people who should buy Vista now are repair techs so they can
help the hapless souls who buy a computer with Vista pre-installed.

You're obsessed and need to seek immediate medical/psychological help.
You post as if Vista ruined your life and you have this uncontrollable
compulsion to tell others that Vista will ruin their lives too.
This is now like a "job" for you.
Get help now and get a new life as you're sounding more and more like a
freakin worthless LOSER!
