Hi, guys...
I am getting a BSOD, marked "bad_pool_header", with a stop: 00000019 error.
It pops up every time I attempt to connect my new LG CD/burner. How do I go
about resolving this issue?
Please help.

Make sure the jumper pin is either master or slave depending on other(s)
connected to the IDE cable.

Does this mean I will have to go into the case? Or is checking master/slave
something I can do without opening the case. I seem to remember being
presented with a window which asked should I make the drive master or slave.
There is, of couse, an internal CD drive, with Roxio software, which I
deleted, as requested by the new software which accompanied the new burner.
How would I go into XP (or whatever) and change the new burner to "master"?
When you say, "others", do you mean other users?
Thanks, xoxoxoxoxoxoxo );0*

Yes you will have to go into the case. The CD-ROM has a jumper (a
plastic cap with metal in it that connects copper pins together, this is
used to make settings usually on a hardware basis) to set it to
master/slave and sometimes cable select.

With others he means the other devices on the cable. Each IDE cable can
connect 2 devices. One of these has to be the master, the other slave.
They can NOT both have the same setting. In case of an 80 conductor IDE
cable make sure blue is in the mainboard, black is in the master device
and grey in the slave device. Do NOT connect them any other way, no
matter how many people will tell you it works fine for them, it's not
according to standards and WILL cause trouble in some (but not all) cases.

Andrew E. is a troll who gives wrong advice at best, destructive advice
at worst. Ignore him.

Please describe how you are connecting the new cd drive. Is this an
internal or external drive? What did you install for the new drive?
Your stop error usually indicates a bad driver. What was the software
that accompanied the drive?

Perhaps the problem is with the drivers for the usb combo card. Did you
install them first? Did you already have third-party burning software
installed? If yes, then uninstall it or the Nero. You're going to need
to be deductive in your troubleshooting. This means going back to when
things worked and then only adding one thing at a time.
