I cannot get on to walmart's web page. I have been trying for a couple of
months now and thought it might be my ISP but I switched to DSL and I am
still having problems.

I have done exactly what the error page says to do and still nothing. I
have also tried MSN and the problem still occurs. Walmart is the only web
site I am havong probs with. Can anyone give me suggestions? It has to be
some setting on my comp. unless walmarts web page is messed up, but I think
that is unliklely for how long its been.

What happens when you try? What browser are you using? There's a ton of
javascript on that site (different from Java) and you may have a
security program that is blocking javascript. Only you know what you
have installed so you'll need to take a look at your security program's
options. Or maybe you have javascript denied in your browser. Try a
different browser like Firefox or Opera.

Malke thanks for your help,

When I try I get the message "this program cannot display the web page"
and gives me intructions to retype the address, try another web site, and
check my internet connection. I use the IE7 and also have tried the IE6 as
well.

I am not computer savy and will try your suggestion on a different browser.
thanks

Since you tried with different IE's, I would first try with Firefox. If
you still can't get to http://www.walmart.com/ then definitely look to
this being a security setting.

Try under another user profile. Sometimes a corrupt profile will prevent you
access to a site.

Once again malke thanks for your time, I tried firefox and still no luck. I
checked my security settings for IE and changed it to medium, then I checked
my cache and deleted all of it, I dont no what else to do. Is that what you
meant with the security?
the firewall I use is windows xp and I use the VCOM FIX IT UTILITIES 6 for
my spyware and antivirus, and as far as I know that is all the security
settings I have.

and to don I also appreciate your input I tried what you suggested and it
did not work. I do appreciate both of your help and patience, I will try to
find microsofts help email address and contact them as well but they seem to
like to hide that. I am still looking thats how I ended up here.

Microsoft isn't going to be able to help with this so don't bother
emailing them. Look in the VCOM Fix-It programs for a setting that
disallows javascript. Look for a setting where you can possibly set
exceptions and put Walmart's site in there. I'm not familiar with the
Fix-It programs so I can't help you. You might look on the Fix-It
website for FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) and tech support.

If you still can't figure it out, then I think it would be worthwhile to
have a knowledgeable friend or computer professional come over and sort
this out. It probably is going to take someone who knows what they are
doing and can see the machine to fix the issue. You've got a security
setting in place but without being able to go through the Fix-It
programs, finding the setting will be really hard to do in a newsgroup.

I'm glad you got it sorted. No, I have no reason to kick myself. After
all, I couldn't see your machine and could only give an educated guess
at the cause of the problem.

Thanks for taking the time to post your solution.
