Hi there,
Your problems indicate that there is a bottle neck somewhere. If you first
save your video to your hard drive using the DV-AVI option, does that video
display any of the properties described? If it does not then it would
indicate that your problem is with the cameras connection to your computer.
Assuming you are using a firewire card and cable (or ilink) it is possible
that the card or the cable (or even the socket on the camera) may be
defective. Your ability to capture using the card or cable does not
guarantee that sending the data back to the camera will work as required.
There is a program called WinDV (there is a link on my website) that
transfers video to and from DV cameras. Its free and acclaimed by many. It
has also fixed your type of problem for others in the past. Its probably
worth a try out
