When I do a Windows Update (Tools | Windows Update within IE), I get a page
that says Bad Request (Invalid Verb).

I'm running XP PRO SP 1, and IE 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 with SP1;

This problem just started happening yesterday. This pc has been working
fine, and I don't know what changed. I don't think I did any installs or
windows updates.

I'm wondering if IE is somehow corrupt, but I've followed
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318378 all the way until i got to the
part about repariing the OS. Hopefully I can resolve the issue without
resorting to something that invasive.

I think it is an IE problem, because I've noticed that I also get browser
errors when following hyperlinks on webpages.
e.g some pages will give me a HTTP 400 - Bad Request, but then if I hit
refresh the page will render. I also have some images not fully rendering
until I hit refresh or show picture. I also have some sites give me a
HTTP Error 403- Forbidden, but again, if I hit refresh it usuallly works.

I have this PC plugged into a router that is connected to a cable modem.
Other PCs on the same router work fine. I've tried changing the IE
security settings, repairing IE, with no luck.

Does anyone have any other sugguestions that I can try.

-Randy

403 errors, check this page for some clues.

Images/Pictures not showing.
Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.
If still no joy then have a look at this page for other issues.
