I have a new LG Gsa 4120B dvd recorder installed via a USB2 external cradle. It will read dvd and cd,write data to cd but does not seem to want to burn dvds. Have tried 3 from a batch of 25 RiDisc purple 4x 4.7gb. Ran a drive test with Nero and came up with "Invalid field in CDB(052400)). Should I be trying more discs,do they need formating first (never burned dvds b4) or do anything else.

Thanks for any help you may give

Mick

Do you have the DVD burning software installed? What
version of Nero do you have?

Actually that is an extremely nice DVD recorder. It does absolutely
everything including the kitchen sink. Does DVD+R/W, DVD-R/W, and
DVD-RAM. What I am going to assume is that the DVD's that you have
chosen are cheap and not necessarily recognized by your drive. You may
need to update the firmware for your drive. I tried to upload the
firmware, but it didn't work so here is a little link and you'll have to
look for it

Also, for a little more info about this drive:
