In IE there is a facility where we can customise and put or remove some of
the buttons, for example Yahoo. Similarly AIM.

I have uninstalled AIM, however the AIM toolbar button still exists. It
points to the address where original AIM.EXE used to exists. Now the file
doesnt exists, I want to remove the button from the registry.

I know how to remove (like go to customise toolbar and remove from there),
so that I cannot see it. However I want it to remove it from that list as
well.

Thanks and Regards
Yash

Hi Yash,

There are not options in IE to delete buttons or extensions. There are
plenty of tools out there to do this for you. Here's mine

http://www.iecustomizer.com/iebuttonsdownload.htm

Its shareware but you get 20 times to use it - plenty enough to delete your
unwanted button.

Also registry cleaners like nortons may do the trick for u.

Regards.

Hi,
Try ToolbarCop from http://windowsxp.mvps.org/toolbarcop.htm

Or, it's possible that a startup program is creating/recreating this button.
Check startup programs via Start> Run> msconfig> Startup. More at: "How to
manage Windows Startup:" http://windowsxp.mvps.org/startup.htm

Hope this helps,
Don
