Every logon I get a message comming up stating "Outdated
database version. Please exit and reinstall BackWeb."
Where can I find this and why is it suddenly popping up?

Backweb is an application that is used by many other applications to
automatically update themselves via the Internet. F-Secure Antivirus
products use Backweb, for instance, to get virus definition updates. What
third-party applications are installed on your machine? One of them (at
least) is using Backweb to get updates.

Here I thought maybe I had a worm or trojan when I saw Backweb in my
process list. It sounds too much like BackOrifice (and you know what that
sounds like).

Spybot S&D is supposed to remove Backweb - but it doesn't
always. I had to delete registry setting and files
manually. You will lose some auto-updating functionality -
on my machne it was the "Compaq Connection" program that
was calling backweb, and giving me an eror.
