i have done a scan of windows xp and found that there are a lot of listings
in the regstry of backweb lite. found out that it is normal for hp machines
to have them but i don't have a hp.

I do have some other hp products such as a printer. It says that it sends
out information like ip adres and the use of explorer. Do i have to worry
about this?

My second question is about Alexa Related. The scan comes up with this and
says it has to be removed. Where does it come from and how can i stop it
from getting onto my computer?

There are lots of products, not just HP, that use BackWeb to check for
product updates. It's fairly benign unless you need all the CPU you can
get. But if you don't want it, locate the executable and rename it (you may
need to be in safe mode). Then check the software to see if it cares.

I have removed it and everything seems to work alright.
the only thing is that alexa comes right back everytime. Can anybody give me
the name of a good program to block this in the future?

Thanx

Hi LL,
Try to search for realted.htm on your HDD and SHIFT + DELETE and you will
n't see the pretty Alexa again unless it is still in the registry?.
The path will be for realted.html Document will be called:
C:\Windows\Web = look in the Right pane/window for realted.htm and delete by
pressing shift + delete.
HTH.
