You are gonna love this one:
I have a user who rebuilt their machine using XP Home, then went out and
installed all patches, updates, and IE7. Started to install applications,
then decided to upgrade to XP Pro. Installing right over Home and IE7.
Needless to say, there are some issues going on with IE to the point where it
will not open. Cannot activate, cannot install from a full-download version
of IE6 or 7. Are there any ideas out there, or am I looking at informing
them to do a wipe & rebuild.

Regards
C Calamis

They should have installed XP, then SP2, then the updates, then IE7. Best
option is to start again.
