Backward compatibility? Importing Windows Mail messages into Outlook Express 6

Forgive me if this has been covered. It is difficult to devise search
terms for this problem. I have found nothing.

First I will describe the issue and then the reason why I wish to do
this...in case there are better workarounds that have not occurred to
me.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I want to be able to export messages from Windows Mail [in their
original form] and import them onto an XP PC that is still using
Outlook Express 6.

At first sight it appears to be not possible as Vista / Widows mail
seems to be using a whole new method of storing mails with which the
import mechanism of OE6 is not compatible.

The reasons for my wish to do this are as follows.

I use an XP PC with OE6 during the week and at the weekend I use a
new Vista PC with WM at a different location. This has just replaced
an XP system that used OE6.

I like my email presented identically in both locations.... with all
messages sent and received from either location present in both.
Achieving that with sent mails is relatively easy. Both mail clients
are configured to leave copies of received mail on the server.

I cannot see a way of dealing with sent mails however. So it has been
my habit when changing locations, to copy the weeks 'sent' mails to
a transfer folder within OE and taking a copy of that folder to my new
location. { Forwarding those mails to myself is no good... I'd end up
with duplicates... but crucially they would not then 'present'
identically, with regard to the sender field}

This process has worked satisfactorily until a few weeks ago I
replaced one of the PC's with a Vista PC / Windows Mail.
I can still export OE6 messages and import into WM ... but is it
possible the other way? It does not appear to be.

Or is my whole approach flawed and unnecessary here... Is there a
better way?

Thanks

GJM

Just take the eml files from WinMail and drag them from Explorer overtop an
OE message list window and they will be incorporated into OE.
