Backups change File accessed date

My manager wants me to run a report showing him when the
last time each file was accessed. The problem is my
backup software changes the file acceseed date on each
file. I believe it is doing this because it sets the
archive bit. Is there anyway to solve this? I realize I
can't go back and time to fix this, but I wonder if there
is something I can change to see the real accessed date
in the future. Thanks
