We have a new HP SCSI Dat Tape Drive

When Windows 2000 Backup occurs we get the following error occurs every time in the Verify part of our backup repor

Error: The device reported an error on a request to seek to a logical media addres
Error reported bad dat

The error always occurs but durning different times within the Verify

I've been successful in retrieving data from the tapes even though this error just started occuring after we switched tape drives.

Is this "new" tape drive in the supported drives list?

Built in Backup is a problematic piece of crap, you will be MUCH
better served by a third party solution.

This was happening for us as well, and upon further
investigation, it was corrupt .pst files that failed the
verify.
