Have you actually used the backup utility on the computer that has it? The
consensus here seems to be that it's junk and may lull you into a false
sense of security. There are much better options available from other
vendors.

Are you sure you want to be using NTBACKUP anyway? As it isn't very good
at restoring properly anyway. There are many free backup programs that
are far better if you want to reconsider.

Acronis True Image (has a 15 day trial version available)

Acronis True Image Seagate Edition (DiscWizard)

Backup is installed automatically on XP Professional, but not on XP
Home. If you have the complete XP Home CD, find backup on the CD, in
\ValueAdd\MSFT\NTBACKUP and install it yourself by doubleclicking the
file ntbackup.msi.

If you don't have an XP CD, you can download ntbackup.msi at
http://www.onecomputerguy.com/software/ntbackup.msi Also see

You can download the NTBACKUP program from the Microsoft site here:
http://tinyurl.com/3uoymg

I have used it to restore individual files. It works as advertised.
