Backup Tool vs. Export

I want to backup my Outlook *.pst file. There appears to be 2 options - the
Outlook Backup Tool and Export. I want all of the folders in the backup.

I did both just to try, but the Export function resulted in a file of ~558K
while the Backup Tool resulted in a file of ~264K.

(I did select all folders as an option in the Export function.)
(I selected the default Personal Folder in the Backup Tool.)

I'm concerned..
1. Not all the folders are being selected with the Backup Tool, or,
2. The Export function may cause data problems (as stated elsewhere in the
discussion forum).

Which should I stick with? And, why?

Thanks.

Could attachments cause a larger file? The PST file located in Documents and
Settings is ~264K, the same size as the backup file created using the Backup
Tool.

You should not use Export. It can corrupt the pst file. Use Backup or just
copy the entire hidden Outlook.pst file to backup media. The Backup Tool on
the File menu must be set up properly in Backup, Options to make sure all
folders are backed up.

I have moved the *.pst file to (My) Documents. When my Documents folder is
backed up (automatic on Vista), so is the .pst.
