I cant get backup to work, I have a new tape drive
installed and it is ready to go. I put in a new tape I
went to backup data and it asked something like do you
want it to be added to the media pool and prepare media
for use. I said yes, and it brought up another message and
this is where I have stopped. It says on the bar "reqired
media missing" and message "There is no unused media
available with the selected type. Add unused media or
click cancel to select another type." I am using travan
with a seagate tape drive stt20000a. I went under manage
my computer and clicked on removable storage, media pools,
free, travan, and then I see the tape on the right side
(tape icon with a 1 by it). I right clicked on it and
chose prepare and it says it will erase everything and
prepare it and I say yes, and it comes up with an error
there, it says "the media pool identifier does not
represent a valid media pool." Help anyone! Thanks.

It sounds like the ribbon cable from the Tape Drive to the
board is loose, try re-seating it. If this doesn't work I
would take the tape drive back for replacement.
