I know that the backup plugin for outlook 2003 may work with outlook 2007,
but I have read that a lot of people are having problems getting it to work
properly.

Is it possible for me to make the backup manually by copying the relevant
..pst file from: C/Documents and settings/my documents/Local
Settings/Application Data/Microsoft/Outlook/ - onto a bacup disk?

Will I be able to restore it by loading it back into the same folder later?

Will this backup include everything for the relevant account?

the pst file will include all outlook items: contacts, mail, calendar, tasks,
notes
but no configuration data, no shared folder's data and no autocomplete data

In other words, that's exactly the same as what Microsoft's PST backup tool does -- it just copies the .pst file.
