What is the proceedure for making an image copy of a cd? Please.
My laptop only has 1 cd drive which is RW. I tried copying the contents of
the cd to a temp file then dragged the files back onto a blank cd and wrote
the cd. Then I tried using the newly written cd but the program did not
accept it.
Thanks for any help.

My computer does not have 'second copy' which I saw mention of in some of
the querries. I have XP home edition.

All CD burner programs have an option that lets you make a
copy of a CD, without you dragging anything anywhere. Click
the Help function in your CD program and look for appropriate
hints. If unsuccess, post at least the name of the burner program
you use.

Are you trying to do this just using Windows? You need a program that is
specifically for writing CDs/DVDs. Like Nero or EZ CD Creator. With either
of them you put your source CD in, open the program and choose Copy CD. It
will copy it to memory and instruct you to put in the blank target CD. Then
it will make the copy.

The intrinsic CD burning capability of Windows XP is very limited.
