Backup & Restore and Partition Magic

I have recently partitioned my C drive into 2 logical and now when I try to
disable system restore I get the following error "System Restore encountered
an error trying to enable/disable one or more drives. Please restart your
machine and try again". I do restart my machine but I still am unable to do
anything. Any ideas?
