My backspace won't delete a word that is highlighted in Word or Outlook. It
will just go back to the front of that word. It will also not replace a word
that is highlighted when I type over it. Please help! Thanks!

Tools | Options | Edit: Typing replaces selection (Backspace is considered
"typing").
