Background is pink--went all by itself. What is wrong and
can I correct it?

got anything magnetic near the monitor as in speakers etc. Usually this
causes a green "theme". Can you change it in display? Since I don't know
how savvy you are, go to control panel_ display_ appearance_ click
advanced, hit the pulldown arrow, find windows, i believe or desktop. can't
remember although i reset my stuff once or twice a week just for fun. find
whatever one has a pink background if any and change it. Or it could be that
your monitor is losing a gun. Beyond that, wait for one of this forums
MVP's to sidle by your question and give expert advice.

As Squidfoot noted, it could be a gun. More information please. Is this a
CRT? If you reboot, does the white text during POST or before the OS starts
have this same pink cast?

Is just the background pink and white still displays in the foreground? If
so, have you checked to see if there is a later version of your video
drivers or did you just recently load a newer version?
