Wahoo! There was another group policy setting (control panel display)
called "Hide Desktop Tab." That one was already set to "Not configured" and
messing with it didn't help.
The one you suggested was also already set to "Not configured," but I turned
it on then off again and that brought back the desktop tab. Thanks a
million.
