I am trying to insert background music in an e-mail.
Here is what I did :
Create Mail > Format > Background > sound > browse, select my music, click
Open > OK
My problem is , when I sent it to myself for testing, music came on as I
opened the message. But, when I sent it to someone, the recipient could not
hear it. Any reason why ?

Maybe you should post in a group relating to your Email client?

This is not your problem, it is the settings on the recipient's computer.
If the recipient has XP, most likely they have a part of their sound system muted or very low volume.
On one of my XP machines, when I double click on the speaker icon (by the clock) my audio control panel opens and I see that the "SW Synth" volume is always at the bottom. Then I cannot hear any email background sound. If I turn that volume control up, then I can hear these sounds. I have no idea what is turning that control down.
