I'm using Front Page 2003 and a feature I liked using in previous versions
was via the Page Properties box, the Background tab and selecting "Get
Background information from another page" - I don't see this option in Front
Page 2003 - does anyone know where it is or an alternative.

Nope, it's gone. Instead, use a CSS stylesheet or a Dynamic Web Template.
