background image size / black bar when printing

When printing using Powerpoint 2002, I am getting a thin, vertical line
on the left and thicker, black, horizontal line along the bottom of my
slides. These lines are not visible in print preview.

>From what I can tell the issue has something do with my background

image. Somehow, the size is not the same as my printed slide
dimensions and it appears that any discrepancy is resulting in the
black lines? I have tried adjusting the size of my image which seems
to reduce the lines but I can never get rid of both.

Any advice, solutions, or insights in to what is happening here? Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Andrew

What happens if you remove the background image from the slide itself and then
go to View > Master > Slide Master and then to Format > Background > Fill
Effects > Picture and point to your image? Does the printed output have the
lines?

Thanks for your quick reply!

I think it had been done from the slide master, but I followed your
instructions. Unfortunately, same result.

Is the image set as the background for the master? If so set the background
back to white then use Insert, Picture, From File to bring in the image. Size
it full frame and send it to the back. Then as a test, resize it slightly
smaller than full frame and see if the lines around it follow the edge of the
image or the edge of the slide when you print again.

Setting the slide background as white and including the image worked
well. Still not sure why using the image as the background of the
master resulted in the black lines but a practical solution has been
found.

Thanks so much!
