The Microsoft Windows XP support info says that there is a
back-up utility in Accessories/System Tools. I do not have
it. How do I get access to it? I did install Norton
System Works. Could that have done something to the back-
up utility on XP? (This is a home edition)

By default it is not installed on home edition. You can install it from the
CD. If you do not have the CD click start--all programs select help and
support for information on how to install.

Backup is installed automatically on XP Professional, but not on
XP Home. If you have the complete XP Home CD, find backup on the
CD, in \ValueAdd\MSFT\NTBACKUP and install it yourself by
doubleclicking the file ntbackup.msi.

If you don't have an XP CD, you can download ntbackup.msi at
http://www.onecomputerguy.com/software/ntbackup.msi

As an alternative to using XP backup, if you burn either CD's or DVD's using Nero, Roxio or similar program, these also have a "Back-Up Hard drive" option that is effective.
