I still consider tape backup as the most efficient and reliable source.
I suppose there will be a high speed connection between de Web Server and de
SQL server, so it really doesn't matter where to put the backup drive
physically. ( I, personally, would go for a redundant backup system- 2
backup drives, one in either server, and backup alternately to each
ystem! - but then I am a cautious person and my data is CRITICAL!!)
It all depends on your budget. But if the data is mission critical, install
de tape in the SQL server ( less prone to attacks) and backup the IIS data
to the SQL server. Also I assume the IIS is a more static server then the
SQL, so the fastest actions are needed on the SQL server?
