Symantec advise SYSTEM STATE/REGISTERY back up before
removing virus W32 HLLW gaobot RF. Back up error
reads;Could not access portions of directory System
State\COM+ Class Registration database. You May not have
permission to open file, or directory may be missing or
damaged.Critical files that make up System State were not
successfully backed up. Restoring this backup set will
cause system failure. The operation did not successfully
complete. Please help me.I have no idea what to do next,
and don't want to 'kill' my daughter's laptop.

Good news: To backup your 'system state' - which includes the registry - all
you need to do is to create a restore point.

Thank you, but I had to turn off system restore before
proceeding with the Symantec instructions. Now I can go
back no further than now, what do I do? I'm getting
desperate!
