Use the "Copy CD" function that is included with your CD burner software.

Don't use Nero to copy the various files & folders - use the
"Copy CD" function instead!

No, they don't protect the bootable disk.

You just haven't made the copy properly, if the original is bootable and the
copy isn't.

The precise command varies from version to version, but it's the CD Copy
function. You specify a source drive and a destination, and you do *not*
specify files to copy.

If you use the file manager interface to do this, you won't wind up with a
bootable disk.

Also, you might want to consider creating a slip-streamed version of your CD
with SP3. For this, get the full SP3 file, and download "Autostreamer".
Follow the directions carefully, and you'll wind up with an ISO file that
you can burn to CD - and it will be bootable.
