Back button removes previous input field contents

On a particular system running IE6 under XP, hitting the
back button, returns to the previous form but none of the
previoulsy entered input field text is present.

On all other machines (generally IE5 on 2000, but some
IE6) this behaviour does not occur and the field contents
is retained, yet I can find no setting that is affecting
this behaviour.

Any suggestions?
