Hello, After using the back or stop buttons several times. Causes
"page cannot be displayed" and browser becomes unusable. This happens
in IE5,IE5.5,IE6 and Opera. I have "OffByOne" a "stand alone" browser.
This browser is not effected by this problem. Use Windows98se. Single
computer, non-network, single user, 56k modem.
Have updated the following:Windows98se(critical), AVG AV,Ad-aware and
SpybotSD.
Use Kerio Free Firewall.Have cleaned Temp file,Temp Internet Files and
cookies. Used all the links in several posted replies concerning "page
cannot be displayed" problem(no help).ScanDisk shows no errors. Ran
defragmenter.
To fix problem I run the IE repair this works until I use "back or
stop" several times then the problem reoccurs and repair, reboot
needed.
Thanks for any assistance.
Take Care.
beamish.

Hello, Thank You for the link. I have not lost said buttons, they work. Once
this occurs clicking a different link or typing a address or using history
gives the same results "page cannot be displayed". IE and Opera both stop
functioning as a browser. As noted above the stand alone small browser
"OffByOne" works, it has limitations.
If there are other suggestions please post.
Take Care.
beamish.
