I have two dell power edge 6450 servers running Windows 2000 Server. Installed in both servers is a Rocket Port multiport serial device. I have both these devices connected to an A/B data switch which is connected to a serial break out block connecting 4 recievers

My problem is when I switch from A to B Windows unloads all my PCI devices. I need to be able to switch the connected receivers from one server to the other when a fail over occurs. (note that I'm not running an MSCS Cluster but a Database Cluster

Thanks

Lou

You may want to replace the "mechanical" switch with an electronic one
toy prevent the "break and make" circuiting issues.
