AxCrypt (Axon Data) is the best free file encryption program
I've used so far, especially when you learn the subtle features.
It can be superior to virtual volumes, i.e. TrueCrypt. No need
to set a predefined container size. You just double-click an
encrypted file, temporarily decrypt it, make changes and save it
again, automatically encrypted.
I also like the way AxCrypt batch-processes all files inside a
folder. You do have to be careful if you store the passphrase in
memory between reboots. Some users don't understand the utility
of that feature and claim it renders the program useless. Just
never cache the passphrase if you might forget to reboot.
I would like to see a better looking AxCrypt program icon.
Something less Medieval with 3-D qualities. That's a minor
complaint.
N.P.
