Hello,

When my windows 2k is coming up before the log on windows I have a messege
that "awgina.dll faild to load", and then there is a button to press for a
restart ONLY.
In safe mode the messege doesn't appear but after i'm doing log on, (after
few seconds) it brings me the log on windows again.
I know that this file belong to pcanywhere.
but I can't disable it, since I can't get into the windows menues.
Is there an option to change the registry from the files on the hard drive
(if i will connect the hard drive to another compouter) ?

Any idea ?

Lior.

You should search at Symantec for the vendor's answer.
It is likely Symantec has a DOC addressing this issue.

You can search the registry for "awgina"...
I have no specific and detailed recommendation though as I've not
used pcAW in years.
You should be able to access the registry in Safe Mode (as an
Admin.).
Last question is Yes, but you should not need to if you can Safe
boot.

Lior,

1. Place the drive in another system

2. Run Regedt32.exe and go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key.

3. On the Registry menu, click Load Hive, and then open the Software file in
the original Windows installation location. By default, the installation is
located at %SystemRoot% \System32\Config.

4. Enter an arbitrary name when you receive a prompt for a key name in the
Load Hive window. This loads the original HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive as a
subkey of the current key.

5. Navigate to following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\<arbitrary name>\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

6. Delete the Ginadll value listed on the right-hand side.

7. Unload the Registry hive.

8. Place the drive back into the original system.
