Award bios for VIA kt133a ( Jetway 663as ultra ) IDE controller has a flaw

If any device / channel is disabled, controller will malfunction : e.g. [i]
WinME scandisk cannot find every bad sector on hdd [ii] sftwre files
cannot be read correctly.
User of Award bios better not disable any device / channel, even if no
device is connected to controller. No wonder so many users' OS often
jam.

Maybe on ME, not on 98
