Is Avira considered a good AV protection program (free) or is AVG 7.5
(free) better? I've never heard of Avira.

Thanks,
Caesar

Avira...antivir has better detection rates than AVG (as borne out by av
comparatives),is very low on resources, but can be more problematic in
updating ,and reliable functioning ,especially on older machines such as
98/me.Some have lots of problems ..some have none.Try it and see.

The free antivir does not have an email scanner (the premium has) ,but

I've used AVG and Avast and feel that Avast is much better constructed, an
I've never had any trouble with it for many years. The updates are
automatic and seamless.

I have no information about Avira.
