AVI files HELP

Trying to open an avi file will open woth win media but
video doesn't play, comes up with downloadong codec,
error downloading codec and then plays audio only. Can
any body help ???

Hi Mat
Its likely the video data contained in your AVI file is using a 3rd party
video codec which is not supplied with Windows. Check at the location you
obtained this video to see what codec is required for playback, or use a
utility called gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) to identify what
codec the file uses. If you have not already installed DIVX it may be worth
doing so as its one of the more common codec's used with AVI videos
(http://www.divx.com/divx/download/).
