avg_free_2011_1120 question.

Is there or does anyone know of a place where a person can DL the FULL
install for avg_free_2011_1120?

I DLed the 4 MB install file but when installing it the prog had to DL
another 80 to 90 MBs, depending on what a person doing a custom
install wanted to install.

Thing is I have one box that does not have DSL but has dialup because
I more or less use it for a backup and for grandkids to play games on.
It would take forever to install avg_free_2011_1120 on it unless I
could DL the whole thing on my DSL box then install it on the dialup
box.

TIA

I did this just last week, for a friend's netbook, but because she
only has 16 gigs storage, for some reason I deleted any trace of where
I got it.

I had googled AVG Free download .

Yeah, this is it: free.avg.com/us-en/download .

BTW, it's different from v10. It has a rootkit finder.

And my v10 has shown no inclination to upgrade itself to v11. Haven't
prior versions of avg upgraded themselves to the newer version when it
arrived???

Wow, I've been using her computer for about a week now, after
devirufying it, etc., supposed to return it tomorrow, and just now I
found two infections, even though I've not read any email or gone to
more than 8 urls, all of them well known.

Hmmmm. I just starting running Windows Defender earlier today, and...

They are
c:\program files\windows defender\MsMpEng.exe(1360):\memory_07d80000
and
c:\program files\windows defender\MsMpEng.exe(1360)

They are both called: Trojan horse Generic18.BNY]

What does this mean? MsMpEng.exe is a regular part of Windows
Defender, an MS program. On-line, complaints about it are that
sometimes it uses up most of the cpu, but for her now it's not using a
thing and the system is 97 percent idle.

What does 1360 etc. mean? Is it possible AVG is finding something in
windows defender meant to find a virus and thinks it is a virus?

I was able to move the second line to the virus vault, but the first
line it says Object is inaccessible. Yet the exectuable
MsMpEng.exe is still in place.

I take it back. There is nothing in the virus vault. I guess
inaccessible applied to both lines. (even though I got a green check
mark for the second line, as if it were moved.)

What does all this mean?

BTW, googling for the file name and the trojan name as written and
with a space between Generic and 18.BNY, I got no hits.

Any help is much appreciated.

Which one? How many groups did you post the same thing in?
Learn to cross-post rather than multi-post.

If you *need* to post to several groups at once, crossposting is the
best way to do it.

Sorry but just because you say crossposting is the correct way to do
it does not mean it is correct!! The charters of groups I usually use
says no crossposting which means THAT is the right way there. As you
know everyone has there opinion as to how to post such as
crossposting, top / bottom posting, ETC

Sorry but if you do not like the way I post killfile me!!

I'm not complaining, nor am I telling you what to do.

There is no *need* to crosspost in those groups where it is not allowed
or desired.

(you try to be nice to some people and they just **** on you)
