I can't find a way to stop AVG7 from trying to update before my XP-home
computer has fully booted. This is causing all my running programs that are
usually in the task bar not to show up there. I need to either stop AVG7&
from trying to update at boot up or change the order of boot up in XP. As
added, information, it appears that AVG7 only attempts to update once in a
day, because I can do a reboot and the icons appear in the task bar as they
should. Do you have a solution?
Thanks,
Tom J

Tom, try this:
Go to Control Center
Click Scheduler box
Click Schedule Tasks in the box at bottom of page
In popup window,Click Edit Schedule

You will find thest options:
Select time of day for these checks.
Check when you go on line.

It was already checked when I go on line, but I did move the time to 6:00 PM
to see if that helps. Won't be able to tell until tomorrow, but am not sure
this will help. AVG-6 let me turn auto update off and I just had an automatic
sequence of checking for updates on my initial log on. This version won't let
you delete the auto check update feature. I'm hoping someone can tell me how
to change the load sequence in XP-home so I can make AVG load last.

Thanks,
Tom J
Thanks

Try unchecking "Periodically check for Internet updates"

I think that may solve the problem! It grayed out the update option.
I'll know tomorrow.
Thanks again

Select "Scheduler" in the control centre, then :
Scheduled Tasks > (highlight task) > Edit schedule > untick "periodically
check" etc.
