AVG Update problem

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 with XP SP2, with DSL connection. I have
AVG antivirus free version 7.5, Comodo firewall, Spyware Blaster and
Hive
Cleanup. All of these have run well together and I have had no
problems. Today I updated AVG which I do on a regular basis and it ran
successfully however afterwards it said that there was another update
so I ran it again but this time it failed. I tried running it several
times with the same result. The last time it did somethig like this it
gave me a missing bin file error code but this time all it says was
connection with update server failed. It turned out that the the
problem was on the AVG side and I didn't have to do anything and AVG
wasn't of any help whatsoever. I have looked in other forums to see if
there was an answer to this but wasn't able to find anything. Does
anyone know how I can correct this? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert

AVG did have an update problem recently, but it was fixed by the next update.
However, support for AVG 7.5 is ending. You have to update to AVG 8 by the end of the year and you
might as well do it now. Here is the free AVG 8 download link:

Tip: The link scanner in v8 and other browser plugins, toolbar etc are best
not installed. The spyware detection is however a great benefit over v7.

I agree. I always do a custom install for my clients and when the option comes up, uncheck link
scanner and email scanning as well as the toolbar.
