Hmmm quick one to ask what is the latest definition file for AVG

The reason I ask is since I installed x64 it is telling there are no new updates available

I'm currently running 270.9.11/1819

I know the first set are the date but even then it told me no new updates

Hi,

That is a bet odd, what AV did you have before? You can maunaly download the definition file from AVG'S website, might be worth uninstalling it using AVG'S removal tool then reinstalling it.

Regards

I still run AVG on our XP computer and it has been playing up quite a bit recently - the updates, I mean. It kept reporting that the update had failed, or that it couldn't connect. But then I did some checking and it seems that they are having some problems with their servers over at AVG.

You can check-out their sticky message here

Is your AVG icon still showing up with it's four bright colours? If so, it is probably updating - usually, when it fails completely, that little icon turns grey and you will possibly also get an exclamation mark on it.
