I just tried it and found no problems
The newist one is out of beta and Griftosoft informed me that it will be
updated when needed. Since there is no automatic update you will have to
check periodically yourself.
The latest version is as of april 11, 1007
AVG Anti-Rootkit Free 1.1.0.42
and if you look at the About and Update tab it tells you to peridically
check to see if you have the latest version

Just make sure you install it as an administrator and you will require a
reboot afterwards.
