AVG 8 attaches text file to email

AVG 8 attaches a text file to all my emails which states:

No virus found in this incoming message.
Checked by AVG.
Version: 8.0.100 / Virus Database: 269.24.6/1481 - Release Date:
6/3/20

I'd much rather this message appear inside the email rather than as an
attachment. The way it is now, every email has an attachment, and
therefore I can't sort by emails that have real attachments - files I
actually need & want.

Anyone know how to fix this behavior? I'm not sure if it's AVG
itself, or if it's Outlook 2000, as I just reinstalled Outlook too,
and may not have it configured the same way I used to.

Thank you in advance for any help

If your Outlook is up to date, bin the avg e-mail scan,it's not needed.
(The avg resident shield should kick in if you get sloppy with opening
attachments)

Hopefully, you have disabled the insertion of that advertising message
from being placed in your *outgoing* mail.

That is all it is: advertising. Your a-v program cannot guarantee there
is no virus being received, or sent. And .. nearly all modern viruses
have their own SMTP engines and do not use your email client.

You will have to browse through the AVG options. It is most likely a
checkbox on one of the settings pages of its control panel. (It's not an
Outlook option; Outlook doesn't care if you scan email or not.)

Sorry, I don't have AVG8 .. or any anti-virus software, as my operating
system doesn't need it.

I didn't install AVG 8 email module, but it's called "certify" mail or
similar in previous version.
Used to be option in both incoming and outgoing.
You can still scan the mail either/both incoming/outgoing, just turn the
notice off.

Yes. "Certify" was the word I couldn't think of at that moment.

You can still scan the mail, but it's pointless. :-)

Click on the Tools menu at the top then on Advanced settings.
Now find and click on E- mail scanner.
In the window to the right are various options including Certify mail.
Remove the tick from that.
Below E-mail scanner is Certification which gives you the option of changing
the certification message.
Not that you will need that!
