AVG 8.0 has been updated to 8.5

I think you meant 285 Robin - yep, it came through today (no reboot needed
though). Still no sign of the extra identity crisis bit though.

the two icons is only for AVG Internet Security
It is not for AVG free, AVG antivirus, AVG antivirus with firewall
the second icon is the identity protection program

Oh, that icon, with the ID on it. When it scans, there is another icon yet,
the regular AVG icon.
