AVG 8.0 is detecting Adobe Reader [AdbeRdr708_en_US.exe] as Trojan horse
Generic10.BHES

The .exe file is a normal downloaded update to the Adobe Reader.

Whazzup wit dat..?

I tried to send it to AVG Analysis, but that failed.

AdbeRdr708_en_US.exe is what's up. Adobe Reader is already up to v9 so 7.0.8
is sus, to say the least. If the file came via Adobe Updater you would have
been told what version you were getting, but since you don't define wtf
"normal downloaded update" means, there's no way to know. If you were any
vaguer you'd cease to exist.

Do an online scan.

Adobe Reader installs the nagware Adobe Updater so, imo, the alert is valid,
even if there is no trojan.

Now, **** off and get that online scan done.

I have a similar problem with a file, SWR_Wizard.exe, in the hp\recovery
folder
It's part of a software recovery system which I've checked with HP.
I had no trouble sending it to AVG for analysis but no response yet.
Digging around I found that in Tools/Advanced Settings then under Resident,
you can set Exceptions.
I've put the recovery folder as an exception and restored the file which is
no longer detected.
OK once you are sure something is a false positive.
I'm using AVG 8 Free
