Running Access 2003.

A Client installed a new HP 5940 last Friday. The "paper size"
defaults to 8.5 by 14 (& we haven't figured out a way to change
it to 8.5 by 11) for Avery 8161 = 20 labels per page.

Called HP tech support which sounded like an Asian Call Center = difficult
to understand & problem NOT solved.

I realize it might be an HP problem. Has anyone encountered, & solved, this?

TIA - Bob

Hi Bob,

I had a similar problem for a client some years ago. If I remember
correctly, I was able to fix it by going to the particular printer's setup
via the control panel, where I was able to select the correct default paper
size.

One other time, I had to create a new 'form' to allow a printer to print on
continuous label stock (of odd size, e.g. 1" by 4"). Again, trying to think
back, I believe that I did this by File...Server Properties from the
"Printers and Faxes" window accessed via Control Panel. From there, you can
define a new custom paper size. (that's in case 8.5 x 11 doesn't show up for
option #1, above)

Good luck,

Ed

Ed - THANK you.

I'll send this info to the Client & have them try it.
