Of the various options in the Avast! configuration screen, which are
the key ones to tick for Web browsing and email?

TIA,

Actually, I do not know your answer. I am writing to warn you about
Avast. It is not very good. See:

DO NOT do anything private on your machine that you would
not want the world to look at. No social security numbers, no
bank numbers, no passwords to anything you care about, etc..
You will be infected in short order.

I'v been using Avast for several years now.
it's excelent, imo, it's also advisable to have one maybe even two
Antispyware/Malware programs also,
and a good firewall. for me - this is :
Avast
Sygate Firewall
Ashampoo Antispayware2
Spyware Search and Destroy.
I'll snapshot screenshots of my avast if you like and email to you in
a day or two.

Thanks. I was interested in the options presented at the time of
installation. AFAIK there is no facility for returning to these after
installation. I wondered which ones people recommended, bearing in
mind that the concensus on email scanning is that you're better off
without it.

Regards,
Martyn
